Vessel rates are not moving the same way everywhere right now. Day rates out of Southeast Asia and China have stayed firm. The same vessels chartered out of Europe, the US or the Mediterranean are coming in softer. Same ship, different lane, different number. For project cargo moving from multiple origins, that matters. A headline rate tells you the average. It does not tell you what your specific shipment will cost on your specific route.
