Newsfeed Update

The rigging is attached before the vessel arrives. That is not a shortcut. It is the plan. Pre-slinging means lifting slings and rigging gear are connected to the cargo at the fabrication yard before the vessel reaches the berth. When the vessel arrives, the crane hooks onto rigging already inspected and confirmed. The alternative is rigging at the quayside while the vessel waits. Every hour alongside carries a cost. Every rigging operation in live port conditions adds handling risk. We specify pre-sling arrangements in the method statement before the vessel is chartered.
