Seven flat wagons from China. Seven hopper units from Italy. One delivery window at a working site in Dampier, Western Australia. Transcar Projects, QUBE and global partners UTC Overseas recently completed a full turnkey operation for an Italian railway supplier, covering everything from shipping through to final site delivery for the mining sector. The job required two batches from separate origins to land in the correct sequence: • 7 x flat wagons: 20.5 x 3.2 x 1.3m, 30,000 kg each (China) • 7 x hopper units: 23 x 3.3 x 3.03m, 26,000 kg each (Italy) • Two 200-tonne cranes deployed on site for direct offload onto the rail wagons.
