Nineteen road upgrades. Three hundred and twenty kilometres. All to move renewable energy components safely from port to site.
The NSW Government in Australia, working with Transport for NSW and the Energy Corporation of NSW, is funding a series of State Road upgrades along the route from the Port of Newcastle to the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone.
Works include road widening, new turn lanes, drainage extensions and the relocation of traffic infrastructure. Work commenced April 2025 and is expected to complete within 12 months.
This is the logistical groundwork behind every wind farm and solar installation. Before a single blade turns, the route has to be engineered.
Transcar understands this work well. Route planning for oversize cargo is one of the most technical disciplines in our industry, and getting it right early is what keeps renewable energy projects on schedule.
