In parts of the Arctic, the sea is only open for a few weeks a year. Miss it and the cargo waits for next summer. Alaska LNG has secured more than US$50 billion in investment commitments from South Korea, moving the project towards a final investment decision. Plans include an 807-mile pipeline, a North Slope gas treatment plant and an LNG terminal at Nikiski. Source: Offshore Technology, October 2026. Heavy equipment for Alaska's North Slope has historically arrived by summer sealift, when the ice clears enough for vessels to reach the coast. There's one season and no second chance. That's how we approach any seasonal route. We secure the vessel, lock the cargo-ready dates and clear the permits for the weeks the route is actually open, then work everything else around them. Working somewhere the route only opens part of the year? Talk to us before the season fills up. #ProjectLogistics #LNG #HeavyLift
