Germany's Federal Transport Ministry presented subsidy notifications to the three winning regions of the second HyPerformer round of the 'HyLand – hydrogen regions in Germany' competition. The Rügen-Stralsund, Erfurt, and Rhine-Ruhr regions each receive investment grants of up to 15 million euros for the procurement of hydrogen technologies in the transport sector.
Government funding for hydrogen infrastructure means refuelling stations, compression equipment, storage facilities, and hydrogen production modules need to move from manufacturers to deployment sites across three German regions. Each region has different access constraints, regulatory requirements, and installation timelines.
