CASE STUDY | Vietnam Refinery What happens when the nearest port can't take a 1,000-tonne unit? The cargo lands at a facility built for the project. That's a Marine Offloading Facility (MOF): a purpose-built quay beside the site, so the biggest units come off the ship and onto a short land route. The challenge: a three-year refinery programme. Components over 1,000 tonnes and 9 metres in diameter, plus more than 7,000 TEUs of containers arriving alongside them. What we did. Working with our Japanese partner, Transcar managed the EU logistics programme, shipping to local ports and to the project's MOF, which served as the discharge point for the heaviest units. The result: 700,000 freight tons delivered to site over three years. Coastal site, no port that fits? Message us the location and your largest unit. #ProjectLogistics #HeavyLift #Transcar
