CASE STUDY | Reels Transportation Umbilicals carry power, control signals and fluids to equipment on the seabed. They travel wound on large reels, ready to be laid offshore. The challenge: subsea installation companies needed umbilical reels delivered to locations around the world. Timelines were critical, offshore installation schedules couldn't flex, and the cargo came with handling requirements specific to its type. What we did: Transcar planned each delivery around two fixed points: the offshore installation schedule and the handling requirements of the reels themselves. Why it mattered: an offshore installation campaign is planned around the cargo being there. The logistics had to fit that schedule, not the other way round. Reels heading offshore?
